12 Theses

1.- Life is the contradiction that the world, structured as it is, is due to my sensory and symbolic structure, and that this world, which is nothing more and nothing less than the dance I do to be myself, is pointless, meaningless, senseless.

2.- This contradiction produces an angst that comes from the fact that we are speaking beings trying to fill the gap between ourselves and the world.
2.1- I ignore the reason of this attempt to fill the gap, it just seems to be the case.

3.- The gap is inherited by society in the form of social antagonism and it cannot be resolved.

4.- Nevertheless, sense can be found.
4.1.- Sense is found each time we create a world to inhabit.
4.11.- I say find because sense belongs to the order of being.
4.12.- This creation of a world to inhabit is called also an event.
4.2.- There are four realms where an event can occur: art, science, politics, love.
4.21.- Love is the only realm where the other appears explicitly as a valid other in coexistence with myself.
4.22.- Love is a prerequisite of art, science and politics.
4.3.- Capitalism is literally reproduced in bed, in the place where love is made.

5.- We do not need a revolution, we need events. When an event has the form of revolution we must drink blood.
5.1.- We need to love. To make our lives capsize for an other.
5.2.- We need scientists, artists and revolutionaries.
5.3.- We need people who understands what is life about, how serious business it is.
5.4.- We need to politicize love.

6.- Capitalism is wrong for it destroys the possibility of consequences.
6.1.- Nowadays, this takes the form of: “Everything will be OK. We just need to fix a bit here and there, but we have the method, the tools, the people, and the joy to make a perfect world.
6.2.- Since everything will happen, nothing new can happen.

7.- Without consequences there cannot be an event.
7.1.- We must create the possibility of consequences.
7.2.- Ideology keeps telling: “more people means more minds working on the problems we sooner or later are going to solve.”

8.- Without events there is no way to deal with social antagonism.
8.1.- It is also truth that without social antagonism there are no events.
8.2.- Europe must bring back the antagonism she outsourced in the twentieth century.

9.- Without dealing with social antagonism there is no way to find sense in life.
9.1.- In outsourcing social antagonism, Europe lost the only place where to find sense.
9.11.- This is the cause of current European nihilism.
9.2.- To stop nihilism we need events.
9.3.- To have events we need social antagonism.

10.- Without sense life is not worth living.
10.1.- If life is not worth living we deserve to die.
10.2.- The only ethical act still possible is suicide.
10.3.- Hopes comes from §4.
10.31.- To find sense must be the goal of life.
10.32.- A direct goal is not viable (cf. America), we must pass by social antagonism to find events that make life worth living.
10.4.- The task then is the two aiming the world.
10.41.- The one needs the two. The two together aim at the world.
10.42.- It is only trying to close the gap of the world, i.e. social antagonism, that the one can deal with its own gap.
10.43.- It is only trying to close the gap of the world, i.e. social antagonism, that the two can deal with the failure of sexual relation.
10.5.- In this way life becomes serious, it has consequences.
10.6.- It is only in the parallax of suicide that we can find a world to live in.

11.- The Idea of Communism is right because it is coherent with the structure of life, i.e., it is contradictory.

Life certainly is a massive contradiction, no doubts. For instance: I firmly support the communist idea and hypothesis in thoery and I try hard in practice - but in my everyday practice I am forced into a coercive position by capital. If I want to subsist and survive in modern Western society then I must earn a wage for a private company, or from the state. Either way I end up re-inforcing capital and its valorization. Then on top of that, I am also a consumer of private commodities on a mass-scale. I am a contradiction and I am guilty for it but I can still dream and hope for a better organization and a truly autonomous society.

To paraphrase Zizek, 'perhaps what we need to do is to think and to think much more clearly about our lives (our goals, our ideas, etc) before we go out and act for the sake of action'. To just act for the sake of action is stupidest thing we can do. Why are we doing what we do? this needs to be examined before we act. The hypothesis of communism is my direction and my hope upon which basis I intend to act.

The hypothesis of communism is the correct hypothesis, as Badiou would say.
